How to help your child get- stay organized?

A well-organized life always shines and makes a child differ from others. That’s why it is essential to teach your children organisational skill from an early age. They will be more habituated to maintain these habits and will be a huge help for their character development. Here are a few points by which you can make them more organised:

Start giving your children household chores- give your children some household chores like make your room tidy, organise your wardrobe, arrange the dining table before and after a meal, make your bed before and after sleeping.

Every work has a beginning and an end- whenever you tell them to arrange the dining table before the meal, emphasise that their chore is not over till the last dish is not done or put at its proper place. Do not start a new task until the previous one is complete.

Teach them time management- it is vital to learn time management. If the children are not able to manage the work in the given time, it’s of no use. For instance, if dinner is at 8 o’clock then by 7:50 pm the table should be arranged.

Create fun memory aids- teach your child to create their own funny songs, cartoons, sentences, to remember the information like i.e., to remember all the four sides (north, east, west, south) short form of this is ‘NEWS’. They can use these memory aids for preparing in exams.

Use of colour code- we can give one specific colour to a specific subject like red folder notebook for Maths subject, green folder notebook for English, use bright coloured folders for the documents to be signed and written.

Teach them management skills- encourage your child to write down important tasks on a sheet of paper. Then help them estimate how much time each task will take. After they complete their tasks, ask them whether they have completed in the given time or not. If not, then help them by giving some ideas.

Getting organized can make life easier for kids with learning and thinking differences. It might take some effort in the beginning but it is worth it in the long run.
